ABAKUYA is a project focused on present The spectacle was presented for the first time as part of a festival \"um mondo de percussoes\" in June 2006 and since they been seen in Germany and Denmark and os of course in their home town Paris as well as other cities in France. Members of the group Francois Essindi and Jimi Sofo also spent some time in Cameroon November 2006 to further their research and present the group there.ing the Traditional Rhythms and melodies of central Africa harmonised with western instruments bringing a message to today which can be heard and enjoyed by all. ------------------------------------------------- The group can transform from a duo into an orchestra presenting instruments such as the Mvet, Ngomo (traditional harps) , tam tam, pygmy flute, and giant snail shells mixed with acoustic bass, violin, guitar and even sometimes a drum-kit. ------------------------------------------------- The music is a result of research into the rehabilitation of traditional polyphonic music from central Africa. The sound is sacred and enchanting expressed by the diversity of its complex rhythms, melodies and harmonies. This trance like music takes the listener on a voyage through the past present and future helping to unveil some of the magic and beauty of the world we live in. I stay in corner\'s waitting.
